STEVENS POINT, Wis — An assistant girls track coach at Stevens Point High School was arrested on teen sex charges. The charges against Isaac Vazquez, age 35, include grooming a minor on sexual techniques as well as consummated intimacy. Bail was set at $100,000. Vazquez was hired at the high school in 2018. His latest annual contract expired last month. The allegations came to police attention on July 9. A child advocacy counselor alerted police to information from a teen-ager. The teen told police that she had known Vazquez for some time and that he began messaging her in March and expressed a romantic interest. Eventually the overture was in person, she told police. Evidence cited Snapchat messages on romantic and sexual topics. The teen told police that Vazquez called her in late June or early July and asked her to come to his place. That, she said, is where explicit sexual contact occurred. Not knowing the possible extent of Vasquez acting out predilections, school authorities asked anyone with relevant information to come forward.
