HOLMEN, Wis. – Police launched a search for a driver who was so outraged at being cut off by another car that he tailgated it, pulled a gun, and fired three shots into the other car. No one was wounded. Sought is a black Chevrolet Equinox or GMC Traverse with tinted windows. Police pieced together this sequence: A couple was northbound on Highway 157 near the Crossing Meadows shopping district in Onalaska. The driver, apparently unintentionally, cut off another vehicle. The other driver tailgated the couple five miles, flashing his headlights. The couple got off the highway at a stop sign on the U.S. 53 exit ramp leading into County Highway OT in Holmen. The trailing driver pulled a gun and shot into the couple’s vehicle three times. “That’ll teach ’em.” He sped away north on U.S. Highway 53. The incident was Friday night.
