MADISON, Wis. – For whatever reason, somebody ripped out the seats in an old pickup truck and relaced the driver seat with a camping lawn chair. Comfortable? Not exactly. Safe? Definitely not, said the State Patrol. The Patrol posted a photo to make a point about the Wisconsin seat belt law. The Patrol spared embarrassment to the offender by not releasing the name and identifying the offense only as somewhere in its North Central Region.
“Click it or ticket.” Wisconsin law since 1972 has required seat belts in all new vehicles and since 1975 in all reconstructed vehicles.
