BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Two men attacked a cleric of the Dar Al-Farooq Mosque on his way to evening prayers. Police said that the victim, Imam Mohamed Mukhtar, said two men came from behind and began assaulting him. Mukhtar described them as in their late teens or early 20s, one white, one black. After the beating, Mukhtar said, the men fled. Mukhtar was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police searched the area but didn’t find any suspects. Police were told, however, that the two had met up with two other men in a nearby park before the assault.
