MADISON, Wis. – The state Children and Families Department won a $400,000 federal grant to test new services for domestic violence survivors. The grant is for child-care to help battered single parents handle a job outside the home. The agency head, Emilie Amundson, said the demonstration grant will provide “a pathway to gain access to critical financial and parenting” to live independent, violence-free lives.
