ST. CLOUD, Minn. –– A Minnesota Air Guard crew and a CH-47 Chinook helicopter were dispatched to Pembina, North Dakota, on the Canadian border for heavy-lift support for flood  preparations on the Red River. The Chinook will move two, 10,000-pound pumps closer to the Bourbanis Dam. The crew is from the Guard’s St. Cloud-based aviation regiment. Recent wet weather has been causing problems in the Red River Valley on both sides of the Minnesota-North Dakota border. Flood warnings were in effect for the weekend from Fergus Falls, Minnesota, north into Canada.
