WINONA, Minn. – The City Council plans to update citizens on options to replace the police station now located in the county-owned law enforcement center next to the Courthouse on Second Street. The city lease expires in 2024. The briefing: 5:30 p.m. on Monday at City Hall. Options include:

> Expanding the city police department space on the second floor and adding more space at the cramped Central Fire Station on Third Street on the East Side.

> Building a city public safety building from scratch to include police and replace the fire station on East Third.

The county sheriff’s department plans to remain at the current law enforcement center and expand into now-occupied city space.
