ST. PAUL, Minn. – Voters kept Democrats in control of the executive branch of the Minnesota government in the mid-term election. Voters also took away took away Republican dominance of the Legislature. Starting in January Democrats will be running things as a majority for the first time since 2015.
> Executive branch: Re-elected were Tim Walz as governor and Peggy Fkanagan as lieutenant governir; Keith Ellison, attorney general, Steve Simon, secretary of state, and Julie Blaha, auditor.
> Legislative branch: While several legislative races were yet to be called, Democrats appeared to have secured at least the 68 seats they need for control. Democrats also appeared to be headed toward at least a 101-member majority in the House.
