ELEVA, Wis.  – This Buffalo River town of 600, in northeast Trempealeau County, is looking for a new police chief to replace Patrick McKillip, who resigned after a drunken-driving conviction and losing his driver license. The vacancy was posted on social media. The pay: $30 to $35 an hour. Among requirements: A high school diploma and 60 college credits. Also, to be sure,  a valid driver license. Besides, a chief, the Eleva Police Department has a  part-time officer.
