WINONA, Minn. – After a call about an erratic driver about 4 p.m., police stopped Thomas Alvin Krause, 62, of Winona at Fifth and Pelzer on the Far West End. Have you been drinking, the cops asked. Response: Maybe six beers earlier in the day and one 30 minutes ago. Police said they checked Krause’s blood-alcohol and found .11% — 1-1/2 times the max for driving. Police referred Krause for prosecution for misdemeanor fourth-degree drunken driving.
