LACROSSE , Wis. — A suburban Onalaska man was accused of 50 sexual encounters with an underage boy over four years beginning in 2018. Named in a criminal complaint was Spencer L. Vrieze, 39. The victim’s mother went to the sheriff’s office in April, which precipitated an investigation. The boy he felt he could not say no because of Vrieze had anger issues and drug addiction. The boy recounted more than 50 incidents. The mother said she had confronted Vriese, whom she said expressed remorse. Conviction could mean 40 years in prison and $100,000 in fines.
