ST. PAUL, Minn. — Burning restrictions have been imposed on most of Minnesota. The state Natural Resources Department blamed extreme drought conditions combination with dry fall vegetation, low humidity, and forecast strong winds. The DNR has stopped issuing permits for open burning of brush or yard waste. Campfires are permitted most places but cannot be more than nine square feet and need to be surrounded by a metal ring and kept at least 25 feet away from combustible materials, the agency said.
