WEST SALEM, Wis. – A West Salem man who had been reported missing in the forest by his family while out picking mushrooms and berries was found alive and well. David Grender, 62, said he had been following the sunset to the west in an effort to get out of the forest but after the sun went down he decided to sit and wait. He said he heard his sons honking their horns but, being in a hollow, was unable to figure out a direction of travel. He said was whistling in an effort to get someone’s attention but no one heard him.
