SIOUX FLLS, S.D. – MyPillow manufacturer Mike Lindell, who wants to be governor of Minnesota, received word of a legal setback in a $1.3 billion libel case at an online cyber-symposium that he organized in Sioux Falls. He walked off stage to get details by phone from his lawyer in U.S. District Court in Washington. Although on stage off and on all day, Lindell didn’t discuss the news from Washington. On several fronts, it was not a good day for Lindell. He had predicted 1 billion people would tune in, which would be triple the population of the United States. On stage he scaled it back to 40 million but offered no supporting evidence for even that number. Mostly the show was diatribe. “We need to get the word out because they blocked the thing,” Lindell said but never explained who “they” were. Or the “thing.” He continued: “But this is part of what I’m going to talk about today. This is the cover-up. This is the absolute cover-up of the worst in history.” Lindell and his guests on stage were full of vague conspiracy stories about the 2020 election. The show got off to an eight-minute late start, apparently due to a technical glitch. “The whole technology was attacked,” Lindell said. “We expected that, but we do have a backup plan.” Through it all, the question remained why Lindell had chosen sparsely populated South Dakota for the symposium for his global event. No politicians from the state were in attendance, not even Governor Kristi Noem, a fellow Trump conspiracy purveyor.
