WINONA, Minn. — Firefighters found a disassembled and melted firearm in a debris pile burning in the street in the the 50 block of West Howard Street. There also were several rounds of ammunition. A passerby had discovered the small blaze, called firefighters, and put the blaze out with a hand-held extinguisher. When firefighters arrived, they cooled the smoldering remains. Police were called. They took the remaining firearm residue to their evidence to attempt a trace.
