WASHINGTON — The U.S. Agriculture Department awarded a contract to build new farm service offices at 10 sites, including one for Minnesota’s Winona County in Lewiston. The contract went to JG Willens Builders of Birmingham, Alabama. The Lewiston offices, 5,300 square feet, will be built on West Main Street and replace an existing facility. Completion target: Summer 2027. Projected cost: $700,000. The building will include space for the U.S. Farm Service Agency and the U.S. Natural Resources Conservation Service. Tentatively another tenant may be the Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District.
