BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. – A Minnesota state trooper investigating a single-vehicle accident in suburban Brooklyn Center was attacked by the driver. Seeing the fray, a passing motorist stopped to help the trooper. The trooper then tased the assailant and subdued him. The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. The suspect, Matthew William Cleve, 38, of Zimmerman, faces charges of driving while intoxicated and assault. Both the trooper and Cleve were checked at a hospital for none-life threatening injuries.
