WINONA, Minn. – Police asked for citizen help to identify assailants in an attack on a man in the bar district two weeks ago. At least two people came to the aid of the victim and others witnessed what happened, police said. From surveillance video, police offered these descriptions of people they would like to come forward:
> A man with a tan coat with a lighter collar, a black hat with yellow writing, and what appears to be cowboy boots.
> A shorter man with blond or lighter hair with a scruffy beard and wearing a dark colored hoodie.
The assault was February 27, a Sunday, about 1 a.m. There were at least three assailants, police said. An award has been posted.

Video that may be related, police said, shows a group of four men walking on the north sidewalk coming from the area of Market Street Tap. This was about the time of the assault and only a block away. Two of these subjects were wearing identical red and black baseball jerseys with a large black colored “X” on the front and back. There appeared to be writing above the “X” on the back. Each was wearing a dark hoodie under the jersey. The hoods were up over their heads. They were about 5-foot-5. A third man, also about 5 foot 5, gad a man-bun. He was wearing a zip-up hoodie. A fourth man was wearing a dark jacket, dark shoes with white midsoles and outsoles, and a two-tone baseball hat, black on the front and white on back.
