WINONA, Minn. — The Winona School Board approved a preliminary $40 million budget for next school year. There will be salary savings from the departure of six staff members who will not be replaced. The new budget reflects mostly enrollment changes and maintenance projects. The breakdown by school:
> Winona Senior (840 students): Up 2.6% to $8.6 million.
> Winona Middle (796): Up 2% to$8.2 million.
> Jefferson Elementary (334): Up 3% to $4.1 million.
> Washington-Kosciusko Elementary (284): Down 1.2% to $3.9.
> Goodview Elementary (211): Up 18% to$2.3 million.
