WINONA, Minn. – The student representative on the Winona School Board, Issara Schmidt, doesn’t see a new for a police officer to be assigned to the high school. Schmidt said students see wo staff safety specialists at the front door every morning. She said they can handle a problem like a fight, as well as serve other duties. Intervention by police officers is not needed, she said.
