ST. PAUL, Minn. -– A Rochester man arrested for a fatal arson-set fire during unrest over George Floyd’s death in 2020 was sentenced to 10 years prison. Lee Montez, now26, had pleaded guilty in July. There was video of pouring accelerant from a metal container throughout the Max It Pwm Shop in Minneapolis. Another video shows him, masked and shirtless, standing defiantly in front of the burning pawnshop and proclaiming: “Fuck this place. We’re gonna burn this bullshit down.” Later in the rubble authorities found the remains of Oscar Lee Stewart Jr., 30, of suburban Burnsville. His death was ruled homicide. Lee was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Wilhelmina Wright.
