WINONA, Minn. – A criminal complaint accusing a Winona woman of child torture includes disturbing videos of the child being wrapped in black duct tape and tormented and terrorized. The woman, Joseline Puente Gundersen, age 20, was arrested Tuesday as being the child’s caretaker at the time. The child’s mother was living at Gundersen’s apartment. According to the criminal complaint, Gundersen told investigators that the child, 3 years old, was being punished. She called it “no big deal” when confronted about the videos.  The videos had come to the attention of police two days after Gundersen showed them to co-workers at the senior living center where she worked. Also: Snippets were posted on the Snapchat online site, although later they were taken down. Detailed in the criminal complaint against Gundersen were:

> Video 1: The child is in a chair with black duct tape over his mouth. He is screaming while his wrists and ankles are bound together. An adult puts aa neck pillow around the child’s neck. A woman is laughing.

> Video 2: The child on the floor of a closet. A man pulls the child from the closet. Another adult, covers the boy in a throw blanket. Another adult, wearing a full-face clown mask, emerges from the closet. The other adult repeatedly pulls the child across the floor toward the man in the clown mask, The child is screaming.

Police said Gundersen admitted to shooting the videos. Police quoted the child’s mother that she was in the shower when the videos were taken. Police have identified the other two people in the video. One of them confirmed being at the apartment but denied scaring the child. Police found a full-face clown mask as well as matching black duct tape at the apartment. Meanwhile, the police investigation continues. Other charges are possible, police said.
