SUMNER, Minn. – A tornado dropped from thunderclouds in the Kedron Creek area roughly between Fountain and Stewartville, 22 miles south of Rochester. Trees, farms, outbuildings and sheds were damaged. No injuries were reported. The tornado, rated a weak EF-0 on the Fujita scale, crossed 143rd Avenue, 154th Avenue, County Road 101 and 320th Street — and continued tracking through rural northwest Fillmore County. It fell apart just short of Bear Creek near the Mower and Olmsted county line.
