PORTAGE, Wis. — A high school English teacher was arrested after a report of sexual liaison with a student. Abby M. Dibbs, 35, was arrested on the basis of a complaint by Portage High School administrators. The district released a statement: “This teacher is no longer employed by the Portage Community School District and will not be returning to the classroom. Upon learning of this matter, the District responded immediately and contacted law enforcement.” Dibbs was jailed pending an initial court appearance Friday. Dibbs lives in Cross Plains, 35 miles from Portage toward Madison.

The charge: Two felony counts of sexual assault.
