NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Minnesota gubernatorial hopeful Mike Lindell, of My Pillow fame, flew South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem to the Republican Governors Association spring convention in Nashville in his private jet. But when he was kicked out of the event, Lindell fumed and got in his jet and flew home. Noem had to find her own way home. According to Politico reporter Daniel Lippman and other sources, this is what happened:
> Lindell, a Trumper who hobnobs with fringe Republicans, had offered to pick up Noem in Pierre in his Falcon 50 tri-jet. Noem, also a Trumper, agreed to get him into the GOP, governors’ meeting as a prospective member. They have appeared together frequently at Republican events in recent months.
> Lindell let it be known that he planned to confront Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp about why they aren’t pushing to overturn the 2020 election results in their states. Lindell, it should be noted, is being sued for $1.3 billion for libeling the Dominion voting machine company, which he had accused of electronic ballot-tampering.
> Convention officials, who regarded Lindell as a wildcard if not a hot head, decided to head off a confrontation with Ducey and Kemp. When Lindell tried to pick up his convention credentialls at the posh $400-a-night-J.W. Marriott Hotel, he was told he would not. be allowed at official events. Later Lindell tried to board a bus for get-together dinner at the Tennessee Governor’s Mansion, a convention staffer blocked his way: “These events are for RGA members.”
> Chagrined at being seen as a party-crasher and not one of the crowd, Lindell hopped his way to the airport, boarded his jet, and flew home to Chaska at 500 mph. Noem, meanwhile, dined with fellow GOP governor. His original plan had been to spend most of the week in Nashville.
> Ironically, Lindell attended the GOP governors’ winter convention as the guest of former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell, who no longer is in office.
