SAN FRANCISCO – The Twitter social media site banned MyPillow chief executive Mike Lindell from messaging. The ban is permanent, Twitter said. Lindell, of Chaska, Minnesota, has used Twitter in siding with President Trump that the November election was rigged. Like Trump, Lindell never offered supporting evidence and exhibited lapses in logic. Asked about the ban, a Twitter spokesperson said: “The account you referenced has been permanently suspended due to repeated violations of our Civic Integrity Policy.” The spokesperson didn’t cite specific offending tweets. Twitter allows occasional violations of its policy against disinformation and non-civility, but two strikes in a 12-hour block brings a reprimand. Five or more can result in permanent suspension. Twitter banned President Trump. two weeks ago for glorifying violence in the mob sacking of the U.S. Capitol.
