BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. — The Minnesota State High School League looked into its crystal ball for winter sports – and saw only clouds, thick clouds. What will be possible as the coronavirus pandemic continues to rage? It depends on the direction of indicators of the virulency of the virus and how Governor Tim Walz reads them. To help coaches plan ahead, the league’s 20-member board of directors decided on three possibilities for starting winter sports: December 21, January 4 and January 18.
