LANSING, Iowa — More dynamiting is ahead for the Lansing bridge over the Mississippi River to Wisconsin. The span itself was demolished dramatically in December. The new blast, this Thursday to take out a remaining concrete pier, will be underwater and may not even be heard, engineers said. Nonetheless: Shipping on the river and the hourly car ferry will be suspended from 12 to 2 p.m. as a safety precaution.
