MINNEAPOLIS — The Hennepin County attorney has deferred a decision into whether to criminally charge John Rieple, the owner of Cadillac Pawn & Jewelry, in a shooting death at his store. Chuck Laszewski, the county attorney’s spokesperson, said the office had received an extension to hold Rieple in jail longer than usual without a charge, until noon, and then released him when the deadline hit. Laszeewski said the police need to clear up a few facts. He said authorities have 90 days to make a charging decision.
