HUDSON. Wis. – Police laid spike strips on I-94 to stop a westbound vehicle that police had been chasing almost 40 miles. Police removed five individuals from the vehicle and arrested the driver. A search found narcotics and other contraband, police said. The chase began about 11:45 p.m., Tuesday, with speeds as fast as 120 mph, the State Patrol said.Troopers called off the pursuit when the vehicle neared a one-lane construction zone. A short time later other police began pursuit with an advance car lying down the spikes.
