BUFFALO, Minn. – Five people were wounded either by a gun or bomb at a clinic in this community 40 miles northwest of Minneapolis. Their conditions were not known immediately. There were reports of as many as 15 shots. There also was a report of a bomb. Wright County Sheriff Sean Deringer said one person was in custody. Deringer said that the situation had been controlled and that there was no further danger to the public. There appeared to be no connection to organized terrorism, the sheriff said. The president of the Buffalo Hospital that operates the clinic, Kelly Spratt, confirmed that five people were hospitalized. Spratt said two of the victims were first brought to the Buffalo Hospital, but the other three were transferred to metro hospitals because of the severity of their injuries. The attack was a little before 11 a.m.
