MADISON, Wis. — Two women turned themselves in to the police for an attack on a Wisconsin state senator the night that rioters tore down statues outside the State Capitol. Police identified the women as 26 and 33 years old but didn’t release their names immediately. The women were held tentatively on charges of battery and robbery. On the night of June 23 state Sen. Tim Carpenter, D-Milwaukee, was beaten after taking cell phone video of protestors as he was walking back to the Capitol to do some late work. Paramedics treated Carpenter at the scene but he decided against going to the hospital.
