CALEDONIA, Minn. – A man who held off police in a five-hour stand-off gave up when police closed in with an armored vehicle. Arrested was James Mitchell Forrester, 36. Forrester was jailed on felony assault charges from an afternoon incident. About 3 p.m. woman had called 911 that she had just fled the house after her life was threatened with a gun. Sheriff Mark Inglett said deputies responded and attempted without success to speak to the man. They then surrounded the property and called in an emergency response team with a military vehicle from 45 miles away in Winona. Forrester, hands up, came out around 8 o’clock. Another man, William Ray Johnson III, 34, was taken into custody on a misdemeanor charge related to interference at the scene.
