MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Assembly voted 74-22 to require the national anthem before all sporting events at venues that ever received public funding. Democrats derided the bill as a political stunt and unworkable. The forced gesture of patriotism covers the gamut from pro sports to Little League baseball at fields built with tax dollars. The measure now goes to the Senate.
