GALESVILLE, Wis. – The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau football coach, Jon Steffenhagen, who guided G-E-T to 20 playoffs and 10 Coulee Conference titles, will retire at the end of spring classes. Steffenhagen was offensive line coach at Winona State University from 1990 to1992 and at UW-La Crosse from 1993 to 1995. At G-E-T he also coached powerlifting. This delayed and truncated Covid season the Red Hawks were 4-1. Two players, seniors Trevor Daffinson and Luke Vance, were named to the AP All-State honorable team. Steffenhagen was the head coach of a professional football team in Italy early in 1996 before taking over at G-E-T.
