DEXTER, Mo. – Giant fowl butcher Tyson Foods recalled 4,500 tons of ready-to-eat chicken products for concern about listeria bacteria. Three cases of poisoning, one fatal, had been reported, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. None of the affected chicken was distributed into the national school lunch program, USDA said. In all, 31 Tyson products were recalled. Besides Tyson, they carried brand names Casey’s General Store, Jet’s Pizza, Little Caesar’s Pizza, and Marco’s Pizza.
Frozen, labeled ready-to-eat. Recalled chicken was in many forms, from 20-ounce packages to 30-pound bags.
