MINNEAPOLIS – A grand jury indictment against Republican strategist and donor Anton Lazarro itemized five counts of sex trafficking of a minor and one count of attempting to do so. The accusation: Conspiring with other people to recruit and solicit six underage victims to engage in “commercial sex acts.”There also are three counts of obstruction of justice. According to the indictment, the victims, all girls, had asked for police protection after coming forward. The indictment, from Andrew Folk, the U.S. attorney for Minnesota, asked that Lazzaro forfeit his condo at the ritzy Ivy Hotel in Minneapolis, a 2010 Ferrari convertible and $371,000 seized at the condo. U.S. Magistrate Judge Becky R. Thorson ordered that Lazzaro remain jailed until a further court hearing. Meanwhile, a separate court filing from 2020 revealed an extensive list of possessions seized from Lazzaro’s condo, including gold and silver bars of various. The gold and silver was worth more than $1 million, according to court documents. Also seized were 13 cellphones, several laptops, and a GPS tracker. Precious coins and currency from around the globe also were seized, according to the filing.
