BELLCHESTER, Minn. — A 55-year-old Rochester motorcyclist, Charles Sklavos, was killed in a chain-reaction crash at County Rounds 1 and 16 southwest of Bellchester. The State Patrol said a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old from Calmar, Iowa, was waiting to turn left and Sklavos’ was waiting behind him. A third car, driven by Brenna Amos, 31, of Stewartville, failed to brake in time, swerved, hit a guardrail, and bounced back into the lane and hit the motorcycle, the Patrol said. Sklavos was thrown off his motorcycle and died outright. There may have been a technical malfuctiuin, the Patrol said. The accident happened at 2:48 p.m.
