MADISON, Wis. – Roughly 600,000 hunters are expected to be out in the woods and fields Saturday to start Wisconsin’s nine-day gun deer season. Hunting licenses issued this year are 1% ahead of 2021, the state Natural Resources Department said. The coronavirus pandemic factored into the increase, the agency said.
