LACROSSE, Wis. – A Rose Street bar manager, Chris Stopla, called for a stronger police presence in the drug-troubled North Side neigbirhood where a fatal shooting occurred Saturday. “A lot of times we see the police are focused on downtown, looking to pick up drunk drivers, things like that,” Stopla told a WKBT interviewer. “We really need to focus on all of the neighborhoods.” Stolps is manager at the Sports Nut bar and grill at 801 Rose. That’s a block from where Ernest Knox, 36, was shot over the weekend and later died.
