WINONA, Minn. — Downtown merchants have fared well, thank you, during the two years of CoVid pandemic, said Main Street Program manager Ben Strand. “CoVid did not have as much of a hindrance in terms of downtown development and growth as one might have anticipated,” Strand said in a KWNO interview. More than a dozen new businesses have opened and hardly any closed, he said. With the pandemic in apparent remission, Strand is hopeful for downtown. He pointed to repeating the month-long Shop Small promotion this month. In, he said, Dine Out Downtown and the Parade of Trucks promotions will be back.
