LACROSSE, Wis. – A LaCrosse man, whom police were following, turned on them and fired a shot. It missed. No one was hurt. Arrested without further resistance: Curtis W. Ross II, 33. This was all near the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse campus. Police said they were called to a burglary about 1:30 a.m. and spotted Ross leaving. They followed him and called in reinforcements. Hiding and trapped, Ross pulled a gun, police said. This wasn’t Ross’ first run-in with the law. He was out on bond as a felon in possession of a firearm. He also had warrants for his arrest — two from La Crosse, one from Milwaukee, and one from the U.S. Marshall Service.
