WINONA, Minn. – Seven Winona polling places for the Aug. 11 primary have been moved from their traditional places to reduce risk of coronavirus transmission, the city announced. The changes were to sites where social distancing would be easier. Also, the changes were intended protect especially high-risk nursing-home residents. The changes:

> From the Maplewood Townhomes Community Center to the Winona Area Learning Center, 1299 W. Third St.

> From the Sauer nursing home to the Maplewood Townhomes Community Center, 1756 Kraemer Drive.

> From St. Anne’s nursing home to the Alverna Center, 1175 W. Wabasha St.

> From Cotter Schools to Central Lutheran Church, 259 W. Wabasha St.

> From Central Fire Station to the American Legion, 302 E. Sarnia St.

> From City Hall toWesley United Methodist Church, 114 W. Broadway

> From Southeast Tech to Sobieski Park Lodge, 965 E. Wabasha St.

There may be additional changes for the November general election.
