DAKOTA Minn. –n A Winona man was killed when he lost control on Highway 61, crossed the median, and collided with an oncoming truck. The impact was so severe that police could not determine whether the airbag activated. Also, the impact punctured a fuel tank on the truck, whjch eruptted in flames. Killed was Jason Taylor Kamrowski, 29. The accident was about 9 a.m. The surface of the divided highway was wet, police said. Kamrowski was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado. He was southbound toward LaCrosse. The truck driver, Daren Ray Bloomstrand, 61, of Plum City, Wisconsin, was unhurt. The accident was two miles north of the Highway 61 cut-off to Winona from Interstate 90.
