VIROQUA, Wis. – A pickup truck ran off the road and hit a power pole. The driver fled. Apparently there were no injuries, but power was out for a while in the Liberty Township area 10 miles southeast of Viroqua. The accident was about 12:45 a.m. on State Highway 56 near Plainview Road. Sheriff John Spears said he knows who he driver was – a 30-year-old man from Viola. Earlier, about 6 p.m. another vehicle, in Ontario, 26 miles northeast of Viroqua, hit a power pole. Déjà vu: That driver too fled, Sheriff Spears said.
