WINONA, Minn. – Work has expanded on the series of four rotary intersections on Mankato Avenue along the burgeoning Far East End retail district. This will likely last through October, the state Transportation Department said. Crews are installing large culverts at Lake Winona for drainage along Shive Drive. Crews are also working on water mains and sewers at South Parks Avenue and Bruski Drive. Beginning in the week ahead:
> Wednesday: Traffic will be directed to the new pavement on the west side of Mankato Avenue (the Winona Health side). It will be single lane each direction through half of the future Frontenac Drive and Riverbend Road rotary and on the east side at the future Bruski Drive and Parks Avenue South rotary.
>Wednesday night: Traffic will not be able to make left turns from the Highway 61 rotary. Signs will show how to navigate
> Friday: Both lanes of Highway 61 will open into the rotary in both directions.
