MINNEAPOLIS – A man who drove a fuel truck into a large crowd of protesters after the killing of George Floyd was accused in court on two criminal counts. The man, Bogdan Vechirko, 35, of Otsego, was charged with violent threats and criminal vehicular operation. Vechirko drove onto the Interstate 35W bridge over the Mississippi River as thousands of people protested the death of Floyd. The only injury was bruises to a woman who jumped out of the truck’s path. Vechirko claimed it was an accident. He said he was returning from a fuel delivery and became confused by an array of barricades and didn’t mean to drive into the protest or hurt anyone.
