WINONA, Minn. — A woman reported that her purse and phone were stolen while she was taking a cigarette break outside the Handy Corner bar at 700 East Fifth Street. The woman said had left the items on the bar. Shortly after police arrived someone down the block reported that items from a purse appeared to have been strewn in her backyard. The Handy. Corner customer verified the items as hers. She said $200 cash was missing. This all happened a little after midnight.
