WINONA, Minn. – The Winona School Board unanimously created adapted bowling as a high school activity for special-needs students. Activities Director Casey Indra said the decision clears the way for adapted bowling teams in both cognitively impaired  and physically impaired divisions sponsored the Minnesota State High School League. Play can begin in late February, Indra said. Competition will be virtual, which precludes a need for road trips unless the Winhawks qualify for the state tournament. The district already has adapted hockey. The Minnesota League also sponsors adapted soccer and softball.
