WINONA, Minn. — The president of Winona State, Ken Janz, shook hands with 906 graduates at four spring commencement ceremonies. The total was a bit short of a year earlier when 931 were graduated. This, however, was not a sign of enrollment shrinkage. The university’s enrollment losses have leveled off and begun a recovery with last fall’s large freshman class. Freshmen are only beginning the pipeline toward graduation. The diplomas and certificates by each college:
> Nursing and health: 216 undergrads.
> Liberal arts: 164 undergrads.
> Science and engineering: 139 undergrads.
> Business: 132 undergrads.
> Education: 82 undergrads.
> Advanced degrees and certificates: 183.
Other commencement ceremonies:
> Saint Mary’s University: May 2.
> Minnesota State Southeast: May 15.
> Cotter High School: May 22.
> Hope High School: May 22.
> Winona High School: June 7.
